Summer CSGC Grant Update: Teaching Coding for Kids

Isaac ’27 is developing a summer coding program for kids, overcoming early challenges with sign-ups and logistics by staying focused, problem-solving, and adapting to ensure the project’s success.

While setting up my CSGC project, I learned the highs and lows of creating a summer program and the struggles of actually making it a reality. At first, it felt like my project was on a high, with everything falling into place: calls being made, emails being sent, reservations being made. After returning from China, a sudden realisation hit me: Preparation means nothing if there is no result. Some problems began to appear, and it worried me. I was unsure if my class was going to receive any sign-ups after a near-scary experience of having a class with no people. Keeping my head down and focused led to solutions being found and adjustments being made. As I continue with this project, I hope to continue solving every problem head-on and always work towards a result.
