This summer five students and one trip leader at traveling along the Connecticut River to develop an intellectual, emotional, and embodied understanding of this watershed as both a socio-ecological entity and a metaphor for something larger–a paradigm for living well in a place wherever we go. Please enjoy this next blog post from Ruby ’26 where she shares about what characteristics of the river she wants to take away with her after the trip.
The flow
The river flows at different speeds at different places. I’m the type of person to follow a schedule. Like when the river is slow moving, it is at places that are more urban, require more focus, and help more people. Other times the river is fast- that’s when you have fun and forget the time. I move like a slow-moving river, but I hope I can become more like a fast river as well.
