Seniors: Don’t forget to make your Senior Pledge!

Seniors: With only a few weeks left until you become alumni, time is running out to make your Senior Pledge!

What is the Senior Pledge? The Senior Pledge is a longstanding DA tradition where graduating seniors pledge or commit to giving back to the Academy for at least five years after graduation. All fulfilled Senior Pledges support the Deerfield Fund, which comprises nearly 10% of Deerfield’s operating budget each year and supports literally every facet of the student experience here on campus. You can choose which area of the Academy your future gifts will support: academics, arts, athletics, diversity and inclusion, environmental sustainability and education, faculty support, financial aid, health and wellness, student life, or you can designate your gift to where it’s needed most.

Pledges start at just $5 a year for the next five years, but it’s strongly encouraged that seniors make a pledge of $20.25. If you break it down, a yearly gift of $20.25 comes to just under $1.70 a month. This may seem small, but together, all the gifts that come from alumni fulfilling their Senior Pledges make a difference in the experience of the next generation of Deerfield students. By making your pledge today, you take the first step in paying it forward and giving back to a place that has shaped the person you are today.

As a added bonus, all seniors who make a pledge will receive a exclusive Class of 2025 bucket hat!

If you haven’t already, you can make your pledge online.

Ms. Judson from the Office of Advancement will be at a table in the temporary dining hall today, May 7, during walk-through lunch, where you will be able to ask her questions about the Senior Pledge, the Deerfield Fund, and make your pledge!

The goal is for 75% of the Class of 2025 to make a pledge. Only 56 more seniors need to make their pledge in order to hit this goal. Let’s finish up strong, seniors!
