On Sunday, April 6, the DA Speech & Debate team traveled up the road to Stoneleigh-Burnham School for SBS’s annual public speaking tournament. Competing in three categories—interpretive reading, impromptu speaking, and persuasive or after-dinner speaking—DA speakers Alice ’28, Casey ’28, Chelsea ’27, and John ’26 took second place as a team. John was the first-place after-dinner speaker, and Alice was named best speaker overall!
On Sunday, April 27, the speech & debate season will end here at DA with the 50th anniversary of the annual Deerfield Parliamentary Debating Tournament. More info soon!
