This March break, 11 students and two faculty members are traveling to Spain to explore the life and works of Teresa de Ávila, a renowned Spanish mystic. Please enjoy the blog post below from Valerie ’26 on the groups trip to El Convento de las Descalzas Reales:
We went to a convent to meet nuns. It was an amazing opportunity because they don’t interact with many people. They answered our questions and explained their lifestyle. They value sisterhood and community. They wake up early, pray for everyone, and go to sleep late. Afterwards we walked to the town square. At the town square we split into 3 groups and ate tapas. The tapas were delicious and afterwards we had dessert.
