Michael ’26 sees first hand the importance of preparation and having a solid plan.
Through the course of my project I learned the importance of preparation. Talking to my tutors before they began, a common worry was regarding what they should teach the students. I talked to multiple high school teachers and helped develop a curriculum for these students whether they were being tutored in Math or English. This helped the tutors tremendously as they knew what to teach and had the resources to do so, along with improving the education for the students significantly. This helped the tutors teach, but also helped decrease the stress levels of multiple of the tutors as they had a clear plan and were confident in what they were teaching. Overall, I truly learnt how important preparation is, and how having a strong coherent plan can go a long way.
