WHEN: Saturday, October 26
TIME: 2-3:30 pm (come pop by any time!)
WHAT: Designing and painting t-shirts
WHY: Join us in the iLab this Saturday to help us design and decorate t-shirts for girls living in orphanages in Mexico! Quinceñeras are very important in Latin American culture, and for these girls, it will symbolize their coming of age once they’ve reached 15 years of age. Every t-shirt is special and will add to the festivity and support of this momentous occasion.
INFO: An organization called Love You More is asking students to create t-shirts for 24 girls in an orphanage in Miacatalán, a town near Mexico City. Love You More is an organization with “a commitment to empower women with job skills and, more importantly, life skills.” The quinceñera party that they will be throwing for these girls is just one example of a way they’re empowering women.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 24 orphans in Mexico and give back by sending love and care through a t-shirt! This is a fun activity and we hope everyone will come stop by. Chips and guacamole will be present!
