Do YOU Want to Lead an MLK Day Workshop?

Marjorie Young – October 9, 2019

Deerfield Community:

We will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 with a full day of activities related to the theme “Following His Steps: Vision, Justice, and Healing.” An essential component of MLK Day is when our campus unites to deepen our understanding and increase our cultural competency skills through community workshops. These workshops are designed, facilitated, and led by students, employees, or guest speakers.  We invite all DA community members to submit workshop ideas!

In addition to addressing this year’s theme, we welcome workshops that are related to our community read Homegoing, current events, or the Academy’s core values. You will present for 90 minutes, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Please note that student-run workshops require an adult co-facilitator.

If you are interested in leading a workshop, please complete the sign-up  no later than 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 3.

Questions? Please email Marjorie Young.

Thank you!
