Our donations to the United Way donations combine to help 26 service agencies extend their reach, offering more hope to an immigrant striving to speak and read English, a handicapped person learning to live independently, a family finding nourishment at a food bank or community meal, a threatened woman seeking refuge, a child heading to camp for the first time, or a teen turning away from opioids and toward the stage.
With local companies curtailing their workplace campaigns, the generous support of so many Deerfield employees makes an even greater difference in the lives of our neighbors who benefit from the programs. Whether you contribute a dollar a week, which is the amount 40 percent of the donors across the county pledge, or have the means to donate at one of the leadership levels, which begin at $500 per year, you will help to build a stronger community. And thanks to Keith Finan’s initiative, the academy will continue to donate $1 for every $5 given by employees.
I invite you to join again—or for the first time— in our charitable investment in neighbors. You will receive a pledge form in the next day or two. If you choose to make a contribution, please return the form to Billie Wood in Human Resources or to my box in the mailroom. You can opt for a recurring payment as a community builder, a payroll deduction, or a donation by cash, check, or credit card.
Please help make hope possible. Give to the United Way.
