Ken Burns: Elections then and now

Julia Rivellino-Lyons – October 10, 2016

Deerfield is excited to welcome filmmaker Ken Burns to campus this Thursday, October 13, for a special School Meeting.

Mr. Burns has directed and produced more than twenty historical documentaries on subjects ranging from prohibition, jazz and baseball to Mark Twain and Frank Lloyd Wright. He has been practicing his trademark style of storytelling for over thirty years now, and his work has won twelve Emmy Awards and two Oscar nominations.

On Thursday, we will see a couple of video clips about former presidential campaigns; Mr. Burns will then engage in a Q&A session, discussing American elections and his thoughts about history more broadly.
