Hampshire College professor of peace and world security studies, Michael Klare, will be speaking in the Garonzik Auditorium following sit down dinner this Tuesday, April 16. As director of the Five College Program in Peace and World Security Studies, Mr. Klare has written a great number of books, including, most recently, Resource Wars (2001), Blood and Oil (2004), and The Race for What’s Left (2012). An expert in his area of study, Mr. Klare holds a B.A. and an M.A. from Columbia University as well as a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of the Union Institute. His talk will focus upon the subject of his most recent writings, which deals largely in the way that climate change and resource scarcity will drive conflict on both major and minor scales in the years to come.
