Mujib Mashal ’07 to Skype from Kabul Tonight

Amnesty International is excited to have Mujib Mashal on Skype to discuss his experience growing up in and covering Afghanistan on Tuesday the 22nd at 7 p.m. in the Choral Room. Mujib attended Columbia University after Deerfield and now writes for Al Jazeera English, focusing on politics and conflict in Afghanistan and larger South Asia. He has worked in the Kabul Bureau at the New York Times and written for the paper’s At War blog. Mujib has also contributed to Awaaz: The Voice of South Asia and worked as a compiler for the Afghan Oral History Project and a researcher at the Center for Conflict and Peace Studies. Mujib speaks English, Pashto, Persian, Urdu/Hindi, Arabic, and Spanish. Mujib will give a first-hand account of the war in Afghanistan, through the trenchant eye of an experienced journalist.
