D-Term (11th Grade)

Guided by the College Advising Office, 11th grade students will begin to dig into the college process by engaging in some structured self-discovery and self-reflection. The 11th grade track will also allow our students to explore life beyond Deerfield through the opportunity to connect with alumni about their journeys and experiences after Deerfield.

What will students do?

11th Graders will have the opportunity to connect with their newly appointed college advisor and begin to look back at their high school career and beyond Deerfield.

With the support of their college advisors, 11th graders will:

  1. Complete their college questionnaires
  2. Be introduced to Naviance and Strengths Explorer, two tools to aid the college search and self-exploration process
  3. Reflect on their sense of self and high school achievements through written short essays that will eventually transfer into their application process
  4. Create a resume
  5. Participate in workshops
  6. AND MORE!

Our mission is to advise and support our students as they consider their futures beyond Deerfield. In our student-centered College Advising process we urge students to be self-aware as they explore their full range of options. We assist them in preparing authentic applications that highlight their talents and accomplishments. All of our work is guided by Deerfield’s core values, honesty, and respect for others.
