I felt the most alive and invigorated during my project when I had my second session with 3 new kids, bringing the total to 9 kids. I had a really good class that day. What really resonated with me was at the end of that class one of my students told me they think I’m a really good teacher and that they are really thankful that I’m doing this. To see all these smiles on these kids’ faces, to help them learn new things, all at no cost, has put it into perspective for me how much helping people can do. I showed up to each session with excitement and determination and found that it rubbed off on the kids who continued to push and try their best to learn as much as possible and make their best possible games. These feelings connected directly with my students’ joy and gratitude and it showed me how our feelings tend to strengthen and reflect each other.
