Athletes of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Athletes of the Week! JV Girls Soccer: Kikka Giudici ‘20 Kikka Giudici ’20 is the JV soccer AOTW for her steady presence in the midfield as both an offensive and defensive threat against our game vs. Choate. She was always hustling back to support the defense, while leading the charge against the Choate defenders. She effortlessly dribbled through the boar defensive line and had a perfectly placed corner shot to complete

Cross Country, Girls: Varsity vs. New England Championships

For my money, the mark of a real runner is a familiarity with the now famous scene from the movie Chariots of Fire, in which one of the protagonists, Eric Liddell, falls (is pushed over, actually) on the first turn of a one lap 400 meter race. Suddenly, the movie runs in slow motion as he crashes to the ground and the camera switches to bystanders while looks of horror and resignation flash across their

Cross Country, Girls: Varsity defeats Andover

Jack London, that great master of the tensions between civilization and wild nature, once famously anticipated the Deerfield Girls’ Cross Country squad when he said “I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.” This Thoreau-esque call to arms strikes a chord with the 2018 Big Green cross country team. The girls have decided to “use” their time this season, and use it they did on Saturday against the
