Doors of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week! Varsity Field Hockey: Lila DeLuca ’24 and Katie Bruno ’24 Varsity Field Hockey is excited to name two doors of the week: Lila DeLuca ’24 and Katie Bruno ’24. Lila is an incredible teammate and athlete – she is positive, works hard, and brings joy and enthusiasm to the field. We have loved coaching her and are so proud of her for her strong play and improvement.

Field Hockey (Girls): Junior Varsity vs. NMH (10/04/23 2:30 PM)

Despite the oppressively hot afternoon, Deerfield JV Field Hockey came out on top in our game against Northfield Mount Hermon today. Most of the game’s action took place in the first quarter. After years of coming up short against a skilled Andover JV team, the Deerfield JV Field Hockey team finally managed to come out on top this Saturday, winning 4-0! Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week! Girls Track & Field – Alex Hermsdorf  ’25 This athlete surprised herself with a sub-27 200m run during the mock meet. She was asked to be an alternate for the 4×100 team and jumped right in when she was needed. She continued to be an integral part of the relay teams and willing to try any event that would help the team. As her running form tightened

The Deerfield girls’ rowing team traveled to Hookset, NH  to compete against Bedford High School.  The weather and water conditions on the Merrimack River made for fast racing: sunny, warm, tailwind and tail current!  A big thanks to the host school, Bedford, for organizing and running this race! Washington, D.C. #1: Excited for the Journey Ahead

For the next couple of days, 11 students and two faculty trip leaders, David Miller and Kena Chavva, will be based out of Washington, D.C. to learn about democracy and civic life in action. Students will engage in topics of debate, advocacy, and role of museums, non-profit organizations, and government in telling and authoring the American story. On the train ride to D.C., trip leaders ask students to reflect on the following prompt: What are you hoping to learn more about on this trip?
