The Academy’s retirement plan is a defined contribution, non-contributory plan through TIAA individual retirement annuities. The Academy contributes 9.5% of salary up to 75% of the Social Security High Bend Point, and 13.8% of the portion of salary which exceeds this index. This contribution is subject to a three year vesting schedule. A tax-deferred annuity plan is available for employee elective deferrals.
Health and Dental Insurance Plans
Deerfield Academy provides access to high-quality health care by maintaining comprehensive group medical and dental plans. A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) is paired with the medical plan, which assists employees with expenses associated with the deductible.
Life and Total Disability Insurance Plans
Life and Total Disability Insurances are offered at no cost to employees.
Flexible Compensation Plan (Section 125)
Employees may pay for uninsured expenses for medical, dental, and child care with pre-tax dollars.
Paid Time Off
Leave for professional development (sabbatical), holidays, vacation, sick, personal, funeral, maternity, and military leave time are all generously offered according to employee classification and federal and statutory laws.
Full-time staff and contractual employees are eligible for 90% tuition remission for their IRS dependents of high school age that can pass the admission requirements of Deerfield Academy. Fees are the responsibility of the employee.
The Academy will reimburse employees for the cost of job-related training and/or courses within certain guidelines.
Employee Assistance Plan
The Employee Assistance Plan provides short-term crisis intervention at no cost to employees and their family members.
Day Care Center
An on-site day care center is provided at a reasonable fee for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
