Job Posting: Quality Improvement & Immunization Nurse

This is a special opportunity to join a dynamic team of health professionals serving a talented and motivated adolescent population. Deerfield Academy is looking for a Quality Improvement and Immunization Nurse to join its innovative multidisciplinary health care team.  Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Quality Improvement and Immunization Nurse manages all aspects of the immunization program and quality improvement projects including the electronic health record management. This position also provides health care to students and employees during the academic year, consistent with current, professional nursing practice standards and the policies and procedures of the Health Center.

Responsibilities include: Oversee and manage immunizations at Deerfield Academy; coordinate and implement annual influenza immunization program for students and employees; manage and implement clinical improvement projects for the health center including those involving the electronic health record (EHR); provide excellent, individual health care and education to students and employees; maintain a high level of nursing care, following professional nursing standards and abiding by the Health Center’s policies, procedures and Standing Orders with emphasis on clinical safety, quality and effective communication; and perform other medical procedures and tests as deemed necessary, and as ordered by the MD/NP.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications: Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, 3-5 years clinical nursing experience, previous work in vaccine management and electronic health record improvement, valid Massachusetts RN license, current BLS certification, the ability to communicate effectively, demonstrated decision making capabilities, ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, experience with MS Office Suite and EHR systems, patience, compassion and understanding in the delivery of medical services and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

The D.S. Chen Health and Wellness Center serves the Deerfield Academy community. This position is for the academic year (approximately 36 weeks per year).
