Job Posting: Project Manager-Construction Projects & Planning

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, and in collaboration with the Facilities Management team, the Project Manager will take a lead role in the coordination and management of new construction, renovations and capital improvement projects.


The primary duties of this full time position include, but are not limited to: Manage all capital projects, including the planning, budgeting, implementation and documentation; primary point of contact for all contractors, architects, engineers, consultants and other parties; manage and schedule all meetings with Academy stakeholders, Architects, Contractors, Consultants and Vendors; collaborate effectively with facilities management team to ensure campus equipment and maintenance standards and specifications are met and sustained; prepare reports and budget updates for the Director of Facilities; Assist in the drafting and directing the RFP’s, bids, procurement and contract document preparation phase; review and manage construction documents, specifications, shop drawings and contracts; coordinate training to ensure affected employees are trained in the operation and maintenance of new or renovated systems and equipment; track and communicate budgetary needs in a timely manner for expected work to Director of Facilities; manage scheduling of move-in and start up operations.

Secondary duties include, but are not limited to:  be available on an “on-call” basis to solve facilities’ issues on nights and weekends as needed; assign and delegate work to ensure the smooth operation of the campus; maintain orderly records of blue prints, “as builts” of all campus structures and Operations Manuals for all campus equipment;; ensure that safe work practices are consistently employed and personal protective equipment is properly utilized throughout managed functions.

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent, 7+ years’ experience in construction project management, architecture or engineering; valid Construction Supervisor License; ability to schedule projects effectively; ability to estimate capital projects and develop budgets; aptitude for developing and implementing policies, standards and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and operations enhancement; excellent organization, oral and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office; strong attention to detail; and the ability to multi-task effectively.
