Full Time Registered Nurse – Weekends

Deerfield Academy’s Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time benefited weekend position during the academic year.  Hours include three daytime shifts per week Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Primary responsibilities: Within our licensed clinic and 12 bed infirmary provide appropriate, individual health care and education to students which includes triaging injuries, active management of sports injuries, assessment and treatment of both outpatients and inpatients, and psychotropic medications administration; maintain a high level of nursing care by following professional nursing standards and written protocols, policies, and procedures, and utilize nursing knowledge and assessment; maintain confidentiality and a professional approach towards students, their families, faculty, staff, and all others involved with the health and well-being of the student.

Qualifications include: Nursing degree from an accredited school; two years clinical nursing experience, preferably with adolescents in a health care setting; valid Massachusetts nursing license; current CPR certification; ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; ability to work with a wide range of people in a diplomatic and professional manner; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with electronic health records; ability to multi-task effectively; strong attention to detail; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
