The Deerfield Academy Communications Office team seeks a dynamic visual storyteller with an eye for detail to join their department. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Multimedia and Digital Engagement Specialist will provide, curate, and update a steady flow of video, photo, and audio content in support of Deerfield Academy’s various digital and print platforms, including the Academy’s externally-facing website: Deerfield.edu. As part of the Communication Office’s creative team, they will help to ensure that digital assets are of the highest quality and in alignment with the school’s strategic goals, brand guidelines, and other communications products.
Primary responsibilities include: shooting a “stock” collection of still photography and video assets to support the Academy’s digital platforms and print publications; recording School Meetings and some other academic and cocurricular events; managing the Academy’s photo and video assets, including equipment inventory and digital photo library; advising on purchasing photo and video equipment; developing documentary-style videos in support of the Academy’s strategic goals and priorities; assisting in the development of video campaign concepts, treatments, scripts, storyboards, and shot lists in support of Advancement and Admission goals; planning, scheduling, and conducting shoots and interviews; editing and distributing video material; working alongside outside vendors (filmmakers and photographers); assisting in updating content on the Academy’s externally-facing website, and in the production of digital materials.
Qualified applicants must possess: Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Cinematography, Media Production, Communications, or related field; 3-5 years direct experience in media production, including photography and cinematography or video experience; knowledge of video and photo editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, WordPress); ability to create, recreate, redesign or adjust materials in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with posting digital media online; excellent communication and project management skills; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
Sign on Bonus – The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at the time of hire and $500 at the end of 90 days.)
