Human Resources Assistant – Temporary Position

Deerfield Academy is searching for a dynamic, detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in a temporary capacity. This temporary role provides general administrative support to the HR function and assists with recruiting and onboarding of new hires, responding to inquiries and processing new hire paperwork and related HR transactions. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and filing employee records, keeping employee records up-to-date, and maintaining personnel records in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Providing first person contact with employees and visitors to the department, answering questions or redirecting inquiries, processing mail, phone calls and maintaining office records.

Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM. This assignment starts immediately and will continue for approximately 6-8 weeks.

Qualifications include: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s preferred, 1-3 years’ administrative experience, knowledge and understanding of State and Federal employment law, proficient in MS Office Suite, and internet search software relevant to the position, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, must be analytical and detail oriented, exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information and employee privacy, genuine interest in people, demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
