Reporting to the Supervisor of Carpentry/Paint/Lock Shop, the Carpenter performs carpentry duties as needed or directed, operating effectively in conjunction with the other construction trades to ensure smooth operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of buildings and assist with new construction to enhance academy properties
  • Construct miscellaneous cabinetry and furniture as needed; repair or modify furniture as needed.
  • Assist the Institutional Locksmith with locksmithing duties as needed or directed by Carpentry/Paint/Lock Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other trades in an efficient and respectful manner
  • Assist with function and event setups, and campus moves as required



  • Completion of 12th grade
  • 1-3 years’ work-related experience in construction, especially carpentry
  • Ability to prioritize and work within established deadlines
  • Knowledge of building construction and building code
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Basic math and computer skills and the ability to read blueprints
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of proper use of power tools
  • Maintain necessary lead certificates
  • Current Driver’s License required



The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment.)
