Parents Support Annual Fund and Senior Parents Project
Thank you for your extraordinary support for Deerfield’s Advancement efforts. Parent Giving is an essential part of the ongoing funding required to operate the school. It also allows the school to expand programs, facilities and opportunities for students and faculty ensuring that Deerfield remains at the head of its class.
Last year, parents gave a remarkable $2.6 million or 41% of the total Annual Fund. Deerfield counts on this critical support to meet our operating budget since the cost to educate each student generally exceeds our tuition by about $30K per year. We are proud and grateful that the level of parent giving at Deerfield is among the highest within our 8 school group. However, our reliance on those dollars creates significant pressure each year for us to again reach this level. Please know that your gift matters and contribute as generously as is possible.
One of the hallmarks of the Deerfield Parent Giving program is our Senior Parents Project. This is a special effort to bring together senior parents to fund a legacy project. The 2016 project is the Innovation Lab in the newly renovated library. It is a wonderful space and has already proven invaluable to the community. The fundraising goal for this project is $1.5 million. In addition to the dollar goal, we also hope to demonstrate Deerfield’s sense of shared mission with a high level of parent participation. While there is strong momentum toward the finish line, we still have a long way to go in terms of participation. Parents of the Class of 2016 – please be a part of this important legacy project!
Thank You! Deerfield is lucky to have enjoyed your strong parent support for major capital projects and the recent Imagine Deerfield Campaign. You will continue to be fundamental to our fundraising efforts moving forward especially as we now look ahead to a new Athletics Complex. You’ll be hearing more about this effort over the coming months and it is our hope to have your support for this game-changing initiative.
