Parent Guide to Commencement Weekend

Spring flowers are blooming on campus and the planning for Commencement Weekend is well underway. There will be much to enjoy and celebrate throughout the weekend, culminating on Sunday morning May 29th, when the Class of 2016 will process down Academy Lane.

Following the success of last year’s Friday night dinner, the weekend will again kick off with the Graduation Dinner Dance for all parents and graduates organized by the Deerfield Parent’s Network. Set under the tent at the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Hall just down the road at 10 Memorial Street in Historic Deerfield, this event is a wonderful opportunity for parents and graduates to celebrate as a class and enjoy a delicious dinner, dancing and a slideshow that is sure to bring a few laughs and tears. If you have not responded to the invitation, please purchase your ticket through the invitation by May 13th.  For more information on this Friday night DPN event, click here or or contact Liz Logie at lizgildealogie@gmail.com or Elizabeth Kilgallon at ekilgallon63@gmail.com.

On-campus Commencement events begin on Saturday and continue through Commencement Exercises and lunch on Sunday. For a detailed weekend schedule and planning information, here is a link to Commencement Weekend Information on the website. The administration asks that parents, family and guests respond to the Commencement packet by April 22nd.

Please check the website in the weeks and days leading to Commencement for any last minute information. This will be a memorable weekend for all and please use any and all methods to assure a sunny Sunday morning on the 29th.
