Lydia Hemphill graduated from Amherst College with a BA in English in 1991, and received an MA in art history from Williams College in 1995. She worked in the Development Office at St. George's School in Newport, RI from 1991-1993, and came to Deerfield in the fall of 1995 to teach AP art history and photography. She works in the Academic Dean's office as Director of Studies, teaches AP art history and serves as the curator of the Charles P. Russell art collection. She lives in Abercrombie House and is an associate in Bewkes dormitory.
