Jill Schaffer

Director of The Experimentory Summer Program

Jill earned her Bachelor degree in Computer Science Engineering and Master in Engineering degree in Human Computer Interaction from Cornell University. After moving around in the engineering field, she most recently spent nine years with the Cornell Engineering Admissions Office. She excelled at the ins and outs of highly selective college admissions as well as pursued her passion to encourage girls to enter the field of engineering -- increasing the college’s female population by 16%. Jill directs The Experimentory at Deerfield Academy Summer Program.  The Experimentory had an extremely successful first year, launching its first cohort in the Summer of 2015.  The Experimentory program aims to expose rising 7th and 8th grade students to collaborative, interdisciplinary thinking through fun cultural and community building coursework and activities. Jill, her husband Tim, and their cat Baby enjoy being a part of the Deerfield community both during the summer and the academic school year.  They can be found living in Louis Marx with sophomore boys.  Jill also contributes to the community through the orchestra and by connecting Deerfield students with summer research opportunities.
