Julia Rivellino-Lyons grew up in Germany, where her parents were teachers for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, and earned a BA in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College in 1993. Julia’s teaching career has included positions at Princeton Day School, Milton Academy, Philips Exeter, and the American School in Switzerland. Julia earned an MA in Politics from New York University in 1996 and an MA in History from the University of Maine, Orono, where she was a James Madison Fellow, in 2001. Julia and her husband, Joe Lyons (also a history teacher at Deerfield Academy), live with their two sons Thomas and Luca at 11 Wells Street, having moved out of McAlister after living in dorms for 11 of the last 13 years.
