Heather Brown

Associate Director, Center for Service and Global Citizenship

Passionate about travel and experiential education, Heather joined Deerfield in 2015 after living, learning, and teaching in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. While in Wyoming, Heather received her master's of science in natural science education & environment and natural resources from the University of Wyoming, and taught place-based education at Teton Science Schools for visiting school groups. As an undergraduate, Heather attended Bucknell University for a B.A. in women's and gender studies, where she conducted award-winning research on knowledge and ignorance surrounding female sexuality. At Deerfield, she serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Service and Global Citizenship and teaches Health. During the summer, she has worked as a sailing and leadership instructor for Broadreach's college, high school, and middle school Caribbean programs. Heather has visited over 40 countries, loves to sail, ski, and spend time outdoors.
