Dave joined our Facilities Department as Environmental Management Coordinator in early 2011 after working for 20-plus years as an environmental consultant. Trained as a Civil Engineer (MIT, 1987) he has worked in surveying and wastewater systems design, water resources engineering, on Superfund sites, and advising clients on cleanups at contaminated real estate and on compliance with environmental regulatory programs. A favorite client from this former life is Hershey Foods--whose secrets of all kinds he must keep. He completed an MBA at UMass in 2007. In addition to regulatory compliance duties, he has played a large role in many of the recent sustainability initiatives here at Deerfield, including the Think 80|20 program, expanding composting across campus, crafting the Sustainability Action Plan, leading water conservation efforts, and developing a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory. Dave has been a proponent for installation of solar panels on many rooftops and arranged the installation of several electric vehicle charging stations. He has been a LEED Green Associate since 2014.
