Ann Romberger

Chief Advancement Officer

Ann was appointed the Chief Advancement Officer in February 2018, after serving in the interim role since September. As the former Director of Leadership Gifts, she managed the Academy’s leadership gifts program, including parent giving, stewardship, and research. She was a key member of the fundraising team which raised $253 million for the Imagine Deerfield campaign completed in 2015.  Ann joined the Advancement Office in 2007 from Mount Holyoke College, where, as a major gifts officer, she worked on two capital campaigns totally $550 million. She began her education career in admissions, serving for ten years as the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Harvard Divinity School. She also has been the managing director of a symphony orchestra and has consulted for St. Andrew’s School, Episcopal Divinity School, and The Ford Foundation.

Ann holds a master’s degree in theological studies from Harvard and an undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College. Active in community and professional circles, she has served as a board member of the Hitchcock Center for the Environment, the Western Massachusetts Girl Scout Council, and as Vice-Chair of a policy group for the League of American Orchestras. She currently is an alumni admissions interviewer for Harvard College and plays USTA league tennis.
