  • A coach with more than a decade's experience coaching prep school Cross Country and Track and Field, Mike holds a Sprints, Hurdles, and Relay Specialist certificate from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, in addition to a USATF Level I coaching certification.  In four years as a student-athlete at Williams College, Mike contributed to six New England championship teams (indoors and outdoors), earned All-New England and All-NESCAC honors five times, qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships, and graduated as a school record holder.

  • John is a native of Montreal, QC but has been studying and working in the New England region for 6 years now. He spent his junior and senior years of high school at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, CT where he captained the soccer, hockey and track teams during his senior year. While at Loomis John's advisor was current Deerfield Academy Athletic Director Bob Howe.

After graduating, a first generation college student, John moved on to Dartmouth College where he majored in History. At Dartmouth John served as a Junior captain of the track team and was also a member of the rugby team, also acting as a member of the Student-Athlete advisory committee. He spent part of his junior year of college playing rugby for the Canadian Maples Leafs development team in Argentina and Chile.

At Deerfield, John is an assistant coach for the boys soccer, both and girls and boys hockey and track teams. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, John will serve as an athletic intern in the Athletic Department.

  • As an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Dennis was two time Atlantic Coast Conference Champion in track, breaking school records in the 5,000m run and 3,000m steeplechase, and was a four time All-ACC cross country runner. In 1984, Dennis represented the United States in the World Cross Country Championships. He took over as head coach of the the girls' cross country team in 2007, and in his first seven years the team finished 9th, 8th, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, and 1st again at the Division I New England Championships. He could not be more proud of his runners.

  • Kia M. Q. Hall studied dance and martial arts as a child. While attending Sarah Lawrence College, she practiced with the cross country team. Since college, she has continued to study traditional West African dance and improve her strength and conditioning through Crossfit workouts and an Ashtanga yoga practice. At Deerfield, Ms. Hall will help coach the girls cross-country and track & field teams.

  • Entering his 25th year of teaching and coaching at Deerfield, Conrad has served as the head varsity boys basketball coach for the last eight seasons, and as a varsity track coach over his entire tenure.  After a standout high school career in both track and basketball, Conrad graduated from Princeton University in 1989 as a two-time Ivy League champion in the shot put.  At Deerfield, he has coached multiple New England Prep School champions in the throwing events.  On the basketball court, he has helped Deerfield compete in NEPSAC Class A, one of the strongest leagues in high school basketball, while helping to develop players who have gone on to compete in college at both the NCAA Division I and Division III levels.

  • Jon is a native of Rockville, Maryland and comes to Deerfield this fall after having worked in numerous spots across the country as a football coach and educator.

From 1998 to 2003 Jon served as an assistant football coach and was the assistant director of the Intercultural Center at Bryant University. At Bryant, Jon fostered a passion for working with students ‘outside the lines’. While at Bryant, he was named employee of the year in 2000.

After Bryant, Jon spent two years coaching with the Kansas University football staff. In 2005, he joined the staff at the University of New Hampshire where he mentored and coached one of the most successful defensive lines in the history of the Wildcats football program. At UNH, Jon also worked as the liaison between athletics and the UNH community, additionally, he worked with the alumni association to bring prominent graduates back to campus to speak to student-athletes.

In 2014, Jon became the Defensive Coordinator at Southern Connecticut University. After two years with the Owls, Jon joins the Big Green community as an assistant football coach, and works in both the Admission Office and the Office of Inclusion & Community Life.

Jon’s fiancé, Laura Miller is the owner of Market Place New England, a cool gift shop in Concord, NH. And he, and his best friend Jack (his dog!) reside here in Deerfield.
