The 2025 US Rowing Youth National Championship final races are set for Sunday, June 15 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
After the time trial and semifinal races which took place on Thursday, June 12 and Friday, June 13 respectively, the Big Green 1V and 2V boats have earned and secured their place in the championship races on the national stage.
In the opening time trials, the Big Green’s 2V 8+ boat secured a ninth place finish, earning them a top-16 seed and locking in their spot in Friday’s A/B semifinal race.
On Friday, the top-16 boats were divided into two semifinal heats and the 2V crew was back in the water to compete. In their opening semifinal heat, they crossed the finish line in 5th place which qualified them for the B championship race.
The 1V boat opened the competition finishing in first place in the opening time trial on Thursday afternoon which secured their place and top lane assignment in Friday’s A/B semifinal race.
Back in the water on Friday for the A/B semifinal, the 1V were in a tight heat through the final 250 meters of the race. Their bow crossed the finish line in second place only .47 seconds behind St. Joseph’s Prep.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s championship races, the 1V 8+ A championship final is slated to start at 10:03am and the 2V 8+ B championship final will begin at 2:48pm.
