Last Wednesday, Deerfield’s varsity golf team secured two victories over Avon and Northfield Mount Hermon to record their first wins of the season. The Big Green shot a collective score of 197, besting Avon who recorded 208 and NMH whose squad shot a 214.
Building on that momentum, the team collected two more wins this week in a tri-match against Williston and Wilbraham & Monson Academy. Competing on their home course at Crumpin-Fox, the Big Green posted a solid team score of 208, surpassing Williston’s 231 and Wilbraham’s 252.
Leading the way for Deerfield was Gunnar Moore ‘25, who shot a team-low of 39, followed closely by Michael Clifford-Levy ‘26 (40) and Aaron Koo ‘28 (41). Consistent play throughout the lineup, including Tucker Gongaware ‘26 and Drew Keiver ‘25 who both shot 44s, and Liana Chen ‘25 who shot a 45, helped secure the team’s third and fourth wins of the season.
Now sitting at 4-0 on the season, Deerfield heads into Saturday’s match at Taft with confidence.
