Girls Alpine Ski Team Wins 2026 NEPSAC Class A Title

On Wednesday, the Big Green Girls Alpine Ski Team Captured the 2026 NEPSAC Class A Alpine Skiing Championship Title, earning the lowest score of the day with 43 points. NMH and Deerfield co-hosted the Class A Championships at Berkshire East in Charlemont, MA. The championship event welcomed teams 12 Class A Girls Alpine Ski teams from across New England and was comprised of two racing components; the slalom and giant slalom.

The girls began the day on the Slalom course and at the conclusion of slalom racing, the Big Green were firmly in second placed and only trailed NMH by four points.

After a brief break, the squad returned to the hill for the final giant slalom racing series in the hunt for the top spot on the podium.

Led by senior tri-captain Rowan Skinner who was the fastest giant slalom skier on the day, the Big Green secured a low team score propelling them into first place and capturing the championship title.

In slalom racing, the Big Green were once again paced by Rowan who finished in third place. She was followed by fellow senior tri-captain Cece Cramer in fifth place and teammate Maura Glynn rounded out the top-ten scoring with a tenth place finish based upon combined scores. Stella Goldsmith ‘29 finished in 21st place and Anais Vieira ‘26 finished in 26th place.

In the giant slalom racing, Rowan Skinner finished in first place overall, Cece Cramer (8th), Maura Glynn (16th), senior tri-captain Haley Hickman was 25th and Anais Vieira rounded out the scoring in 29th.

The Big Green boys alpine ski team finished in eighth place overall at the championship races. The boys team was paced by Jackson Stram ’29 who was the top finisher for the Green and White in both the slalom (8th) and giant slalom (12th).

In the slalom race, Marshall Whalen ’29 finished in 20th, he was followed by teammate William Cleary ‘29 (44th) and senior co-captain Beckett Baird (49th).

On the giant slalom course, Black Alexander-Pletzke ’29 finished in 30th, Marshall Whalen was the third Big Green finisher in 24th, William Cleary was 44th and Julius Rauhs ’28 finished in 49th place.
