Congratulations to our final winter 2025-2026 Doors of the Week!
Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving: John Comite
As we wrap up our final week of practice and prepare for the New England Championships on March 7–8, the Boys Varsity Swim & Dive team is proud to recognize John Comite as our Door of the Week.
Over the past three years, John has dedicated himself fully to the program. His high swim IQ, steady leadership, and commitment to mentoring younger teammates have helped shape the culture and direction of our team. In the pool, he has been a consistent and dependable point scorer in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly, bringing strength and stability to those events throughout his Deerfield career. We recognize John with great pride and gratitude for all he has given to the program. Please join us in wishing him — and the entire team — the very best as they compete at Championships this weekend!
Boys JV Hockey: Griffin Mariani
Griffin Mariani, for his team-first play as demonstrated by his relentless backchecking and forechecking and for staying out of the penalty box during our final stretch of the season.
Girls JV Basketball: Lucia Kinder ’28
Our final DOTW is Lucia Kinder ’28. Typically the first to arrive at practice and the last to leave, Lucia models what pursuit of mastery looks like in athletics. She always seeks feedback, encourages her teammates, and continued to pursue improvement even after our final game of the season!
Girls Varsity Hockey: Kate Beuerlein ’29 and Kate Doucette ’26
Girls Hockey nominates two players for our last DOTW. We wanted to first shout out Kate Beuerlein for all the energy she has brought to the team this year. She has been consistently the loudest member on the bench and that proof of her great sportsmanship. Without her “benergy” we wouldn’t be as successful this year. Another huge shout out goes to Kate Doucette. Kate is another outstanding example of what it means to be a good teammate and to be “team-first.” Kate does so much for our team behind the scenes, in addition to being a supportive teammate. Not to mention her amazing ability to give us period-by-period shot attempt and goal stats from on the ice. These two players have played a crucial role in our success so far this year, and we are so grateful for their contributions. Thank you, Kates! Keep it up!!
Girls JV Squash: Amanda Kelsey
For an outstanding last match with a game that went 19-17. She showed, heart and drive.
Boys Thirds Basketball: Reagan Warren and Cecy Yaswinski
Reagan Warren and Cecy Yaswinski are the Doors of the Week for the Boys 3rds basketball team. They were amazing managers who supported the team throughout a stellar season. Both Reagan and Cecy were dependable, brought great effort, encouragement and organizational talents to both practices and games. Thanks for an amazing season!
Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving: Jane Bannon ’26
The Door of the Week for DAGVSD is Jane Bannon ‘26. Jane is a relentless competitor whose commitment to her training is evident every single day. Whether in practice or in competition, she brings an extraordinary level of effort, toughness, and intensity, never shying away from the hard work required to get faster and stronger. Her approach to racing reflects the same mindset—focused, fearless, and determined to give everything she has. This season, her dedication has led to meaningful work and consistently strong performances. Jane is also a dependable teammate, always willing to rise to new challenges and support the group in whatever way is needed. Through her discipline, grit, and unwavering drive, she sets a powerful example for those around her. We are grateful for her commitment to the team over the past four years. Congrats on your Deerfield career Jane, we cannot wait to see you finish strong at New England Championships!
Boys Varsity Hockey: Ryan Stenzler
Ryan stepped up big time for us this week. With one of our goalies going down with an injury, we asked Ryan to join the Varsity from the JV for the last week of the season. Ryan did not hesitate to help us out in practice and at our game. He is a team first and school first type of guy! Well done, Ryan!
Girls Varsity Squash: Cosi Whitely
Cosi put her heart into the girls squash team for the past three years and contributed meaningfully in each season. Even though injury sidelined her again this season, Cosi never quit. She brought positive energy and determination to the courts each afternoon, her humor always elevated the team’s mood at practice. Cosi stepped up at the end of the season and played hard at New England’s, a fitting finish on a great DA squash career.
