Doors of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week!

JV Swimming: Jack Schwarting ’29
This week, DAJVST would like to nominate Jack Schwarting for DOTW. Jack has been an essential part of the swim team this year both in and out of the water. He’s been integral to the team’s success in each meet this season, placing in every event he swims. He consistently earns “Kick of the Meet” because of his ability to make a comeback at the end of his races and out-touch his competitors. He’s willing to swim any event we throw at him and always does so with remarkable skill. We are also struck by his grit, determination, and positivity on the deck. He’s eager to help his teammates, coaching those new to swimming on their starts and turns, and moves through every practice and meet with a sense of humor! We’re so happy to have him on the team.

Boys JV Hockey: Cooper Lawson ’26
Cooper Lawson, for his calm and steady leadership, his consistently outstanding performances shutting down opposing offenses, and his game winning goal against Hotchkiss on Saturday.

Boys JV Basketball: Martin Liu ’26
The JV Boys Basketball Door of the week this week is Martin Liu. Marty has been one of our teams’ hardest workers this year, and with several players out with injuries, he has stepped up in a big way. Against Williston on Saturday, he led all scorers utilizing his speed to consistently get past his defender. Marty was able to create scoring opportunities for other players and spaced the floor by knocking down some big threes. Great job Marty!

Girls Varsity Hockey: Reagan Deery ’28
Reagan Deery earns the Girls Varsity Hockey’s nomination this week for her consistent efforts so far this season. Reagan’s energy and effort on the forecheck has been elite – she works hard to hunt down the puck and is effective in creating turn overs. We are really proud of Reagan’s efforts in this area, as well as her goal in our last game. This being our only point in the game, her goal was crucial to keep us in competition with Andover. Her goal was a result of her grit and tough play. Great work, Reagan!!

Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving: Alex Chutkow ’26 & Ber Calhoun ’29
This week’s Boys Swimming Doors of the Week are Alex Chutkow and Ber Calhoun. During our recent meet against Andover, they delivered a standout 1–2 finish in diving, each scoring over 220 points. A great sign of what our diving group is capable of as the season builds.

Girls JV Basketball: Kaylin Alvarez ’28
Our door of the week this week is Kaylin Alvarez ’28. Kaylin is the most vocal supporter of her teammates in practices and games, pushing everyone to do better. She constantly seeks out ways to improve and has been instrumental to the team’s success this season!

Theatre: Ella Waag ’26
This week, Ella Waag ’26 is the Door of the Week for the Winter theater co-curricular. Her passion for performance, hunger for specificity and consistent positive attitude make her a shining member of the Matilda ensemble. She is generous with her energy and understands the value of rehearsing with everything she has on a given day, which is preparing her body by building the stamina she will need to perform to her highest and best at the end of the month when Matilda, the Musical opens! Brava Ella! Keep going!

Girls Varsity Basketball: Sally Dance ’29
Sally Dance was great for us in our win on Saturday. She finished the game with 8 points and 4 steals, and she made numerous plays down the stretch that helped us beat Hotchkiss for the first time in six years.

Go Big Green!
