Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week!
Girls Varsity Hockey: Erin Dunne ’28
Erin Dunne earns this week’s DOTW nomination for us. Since the beginning of the season, she has worked hard in practices, has consistently shown up in games, and has had a great team-first attitude. This past week in our game versus New Hampton, she came up with a huge game-winning goal. The goal was a perfect example of how Erin plays – she was positioned well in front of the goalie, found a teammate’s rebound, and was able to stuff the puck into the net. Keep it up, Erin!!
Boys Thirds Squash: Francesco Palomo ’28
DOTW is Francesco Palomo, who won his first match of the season last week against Choate and has now won three straight after defeating his Taft and Suffield opponents
Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving: Taylor Ho ’29
The Door of the Week for DAGVSD is Taylor Ho ‘29. Taylor has fit seamlessly into the team from day one, making her presence felt with her fiery energy, sharp humor, and competitive spirit. Meet after meet, she continues to get faster and faster, a clear reflection of her work ethic and commitment to improvement. In our meet against Choate, Taylor won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, a huge accomplishment for herself and our team. Taylor embraces the intensity of competition and consistently rises to the challenge, pushing herself and those around her to be better. Beyond her results, her humor and positive spirit bring joy to the pool deck, keeping practices lively and team morale high. Taylor’s grit, enthusiasm, and ability to uplift her teammates make her a valued and impactful member of our team, and it is for these reasons that she has earned this title. Keep up the great work, Taylor!
Skiing: Rowan Skinner ’26 and Beckett Baird ’26
Co-captains Rowan Skinner and Beckett Baird for winning race #3 in the Mt. Institute Ski League
Boys JV Hockey: Owen Fleck ’26
Owen’s hard work, commitment to the team, and excellent play at both ends of the ice has set an example for the team.
Girls JV Squash: Georgia Peruzzi ’29
Georgia Peruzzi ’29 for spirit and improvement. Georgia has shown steady improvement in her squash game and has become quite talented at her backhand put-aways! She also does a wonderful job of injecting energy into the team and takes on the very, very important role of our practice music playlist.
Girls Varsity Basketball: Evelyn Kunde ’26, Ryan Rodgers ’27, Rose Manning ’26
Evelyn has been the epitome of a great leader and teammate that has a positive growth mindset every time she steps on the court. Evelyn creates many scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates, hustles back to block shots on defense, and is one of the first to give a teammate a boost after they make a mistake. Keep up the great work Evelyn!
Ryan has continuously been given the toughest matchups to defend this season, including numerous college-bound players. Ryan makes the most of her opportunities to help her team in any way she can through hustle, determination, and competitive spirit. Great job Ryan!
Rose has stepped her game up big time this year, playing tenacious defense, and finishing when she drives to the basket. Rose leads by example, with her consistent work ethic and resilient mentality. Way to go Rose!
JV Swim: Paul Pshenitsyn ’29
JV Swim would like to nominate Paul Pshenitsyn for this week’s DOTW. Midway through yesterday’s meet, Paul started to feel ill. He wasn’t sure he could finish his last two swims. Us coaches asked him to finish his swims so that the other swimmers in his relays could compete and Paul agreed even though he wasn’t feeling his best. Paul’s willingness to push through the pain allowed both our 200 yard freestyle A relay and our 400 yard freestyle A relay to participate in their respective events. And Paul didn’t just finish the race! His swims contributed to both relays’ first place finishes and his own personal best in the 50 yard freestyle! We walked away from the meet feeling so impressed by Paul’s mental fortitude. He took one for the team and became a stronger athlete and person because of it. Out of the pool, Paul loves to offer up “good things” when we compile our daily list of “three good things” during team meeting. We’re so glad to have Paul on our team and are so impressed by his growth this season!
Boys Varsity Swimming & Diving: Max Fukudome ’28
Our Door of the Week is Max Fukudome. In his sophomore year, Max has emerged as one of the fastest swimmers in the league. A sprint freestyle specialist, he delivered standout performances in our recent meet against Choate—winning the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.6 and posting a 21.13 anchor leg on the 200 Medley Relay, helping the team secure second place. Beyond his impressive times, Max has distinguished himself as a leader in practice through his exceptional work ethic and his mentorship of our newer swimmers. It is a privilege and honor to nominate Max Fukudome as our Door of the Week.
