Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week!
Varsity Volleyball: Annie Coody ’29
The door of the week this week goes to Annie Coody. Annie is one of the many new players this year on Varsity Volleyball, joining our already strong team. Annie has shown her versatility, playing nearly every position in drills as the coaches try to figure out lineups. Annie is always working hard to improve her game no matter where she is put on the court. Her energy, talent, and love for the sport have been a natural fit with the team culture. We are excited to see how she develops, knowing she will be a key piece for the future of DA volleyball.
Boys Cross-Country: Rory Hartblay ’26
This week’s door of the week goes to Rory Hartblay. He has been an excellent teammate in small group workouts, often taking the lead. He’s a great runner and amazing senior teammate. Way to go, Rory. Congrats!
JV Volleyball: Ava Cederholm ’27
JV Volleyball’s Door of the Week is Ava Cederholm. Ava shows up to every practice with a positive attitude, ready to play hard, have fun, and support her teammates. Her energy is contagious, and she consistently leads by example—whether it’s giving her all during drills or cheering others on. Ava’s enthusiasm and team spirit make her a valuable part of our team, both on and off the court.
Boys Jr. A Soccer: Jose Fernandez Zambrano ’28
Jose has made a smashing debut in the Deerfield soccer program. Armed with strong handling skills and a powerful shot, he made his presence known in Wednesday’s scrimmage against NMH by scoring the go-ahead goal. But what has been even more impressive is his team-first attitude. He’s been first to volunteer to take care of our equipment and has led the way in building connections with everyone on the roster and forging great team chemistry with his infectious enthusiasm. His future on the DA pitch is bright!
Boys Varsity Soccer: Cooper Johnson ’26
Cooper is this week’s Boys Varsity Soccer DOTW. He’s battled and worked hard through injury the past 12 months to get back on the pitch. Great job, Cooper!
Girls Thirds Volleyball: Ariana Clarke ’27
During our first two weeks of the season, Ariana has displayed positive, vocal, yet humble leadership. She has willingly shared her experience with new players on the team and has stepped up into roles and situations when we have needed a role model. Just as important, Ariana has brought warmth and humor to our practices. She lifts spirits and raises standards through her gentle encouragement or for her fierce gameplay. Go big green!
Boys Water Polo: Joanna Chang ’26, Anne Kelly ’27, and Jewel Suh ’28
The water polo team would like to take the opportunity to appreciate our managers – Joanna Chang, Anne Kelly, and Jewel Suh. In addition to practicing running the clock, score board, and game statistics, our managers have also been assisting with our newest players. We’d like to recognize their work and their involvement with the team! Thanks Joanna, Anne, and Jewel! You are really setting the bar for what it means to be a great team manager.
Varsity Field Hockey: Chloe Cleaves ’26
This week’s DOTW for Varsity Field Hockey is Chloe Cleaves ’26. Since the first day of practice, Chloe has been a vocal assistant captain who consistently leads by example. Her intensity of play never waivers, and she found the back of the net multiple times on our playday on Saturday. Beyond assisting fellow lefties in understanding the tricks to playing with the opposite hand up top, she also brings fun, warmth and joy to every single practice. We can’t wait to see what she can accomplish in her final season of DAVFH!
Boys JV Soccer: Jack Zhunio ’28
Jack has been a key leader in our early season. As a 10th grade returning player, he has been reliable in every practice to be vocal, on task, and making players around him better. He’s a player whose value may not appear on the stat sheet, but always in the huddle and in the intangibles. Jack is a big part of this team and we coaches really respect his energy and attitude.
Girls Varsity Soccer: Minjoo Serhant ’27
The girls varsity soccer Door of the Week is Minjoo Serhant. In the team’s opening game of the season, Minjoo worked tirelessly in the midfield to help defend and was a catalyst to many of the team’s scoring opportunities which culminated in her notching the team’s second goal and final equalizer of the game, ensuring a point was earned for the Big Green in their opening game. Minjoo’s focus, consistency, communication and hard work have been on display daily to kick-off the season! Go Minjoo! We look forward to watching Minjoo continue to grow and make a positive impact on the team throughout the season.
Football: Alastair Wood ‘29
Alastair Wood is the football team DOTW. He came to camp ready to go and has worked hard to not miss a repetition this fall. We can’t wait to see how much he continues to grow this fall. Keep up the great work Alastair!
