Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week!
Ultimate: Tricia Arnaiz ‘25
The Ultimate Door of the week is Tricia Arnaiz ’25. Tricia brings energy, determination, and skill to the field every day. Early this week, we had a GNB game against the Academy at Charlemont, and we had only two subs to Charlemont’s eight or nine. Tricia gave it her all and kept us in the game. We so appreciate having her on our team!
Boys JV Lacrosse: Cam Umlah ’25
Cam Umlah is the DOTW for the JVBLax team. His 2 goals led the team to a 3-2 victory over Longmeadow and his tenacious play has paced the team early in the season.
Varsity Softball: Lexi Rohan ’25
Lexi earns softball’s DOTW for her all around impact on and off the field. She always brings a positive attitude, showing up to practice with a smile and ready to work. She’s a leader at third base and a threat at the plate. In our most recent game against Cushing, Lexi crushed a deep line drive to center field for a stand-up double.
Girls JV Lacrosse: Winnie Underwood ‘28
Our DOTW nomination for JV lacrosse goes to Winnie Underwood ‘28 for her willingness to play a new position and her excellent performance in net. Winnie made some huge saves and kept us in our Middlesex game. This being her first time in net, she did an amazing job, and we are so proud of her for putting the team first and jumping into the position. Great work, Winnie!
Girls Varsity Water Polo: Abby Tang ’25
Abby embodies the core values of team sportsmanship, making her an exemplary captain. She leads her team in both energy and spirit with a positivity that is seemingly inexhaustible; her sanguine nature keeps the heart of our team afloat, regardless of who we’re up against. Great job, Abby! Thanks for all you do!
Varsity Baseball: Jake Kavanaugh ’25
Jake picked up the win on the mound this past week in our game against Mt. St. Charles. Jake pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing two hits and one run while striking out five. Jake has consistently put the team first and his dedication and work ethic in practice has set the tone for our younger players and our team culture.
Dance: Sasha Diamond ’25 and Alexandra Godoy ’25
Sasha has been a steady and stalwart participant in Dance, consistently dedicating himself to excellence and success. Sasha has pioneered a beginner Pointe program and breaking norms in this work at DA.
Alexandra Godoy has been a supportive cheerleader of the Dance program and of her fellow students. She is an exemplary member of the community and always looking to lend a hand or improve the experience for another dancer.
Girls JV Tennis: Casey Kittredge ’25
JV Tennis Door of the Week is Casey Kittredge, who has consistently stepped up to help organize and contribute to practice and match planning. She is always thinking of others and embodies our DA value of being a great teammate! Go Casey!
Varsity Golf: Gunnar Moore ’25
Gunnar earns DOTW for his steady and strong performance in tough conditions in our first two matches. He earned medalist honors in both of those matches, shooting a 36 against Avon and a 39 against Williston and Wilbraham. Moreover, Gunnar’s kind, supportive, and focused leadership has helped foster a positive dynamic on the team.
Boys Varsity Tennis: Ethan Li ’25
Ethan Li is the DOTW for boys varsity tennis. The senior captain has had an unbelievable start to the season: in 5 dual matches, Ethan has lost just once in singles, is undefeated in doubles, and was champion of the #2 singles and #1 doubles brackets in the annual Kingswood Oxford Invitational Tennis Tournament.
Girls Varsity Track & Field: Adeeva Alli ’25
This athlete has been an inspiration in numerous ways. She has created a balance of leadership. She leads by example, putting everything she has into her training to improve at each throwing event. She leads through expertise, sharing her knowledge of these events with newcomers. Finally, she leads through inspiration, encouraging members of the women’s team to give every throw their all, even if these throws are not “the prettiest”. She embraces each new challenge with a positive attitude and draws new athletes to throws each week with her inclusive mindset. For these reasons and many more, Girls’ Track & Field’s Door of the Week goes to Adeeva Alli.
Boys JV Tennis: Finn Knight ’25
DOTW goes to Finnegan Knight ’25. A strong name, and a strong senior captain to boot. Finn receives this recognition for his steady climb up the ladder, solid match performance, and his valuable insights into the history of JV tennis. Finn plays an important role in maintaining the team’s high morale, and his presence on the team does not go unnoticed!
Theater: Aviel Alexander ’25
Throughout his career in Deerfield’s Theater Program, Aviel has tended to play the heavier, older and more serious roles thus far. However, in the Spring production of “The One Act Play that Goes Wrong”, Aviel it let loose into the world of comedy, and boy, how he relishes it! It has been a sheer delight to witness Aviel’s unrestrained glee as bounces from calamity to calamity on stage. Joyful, energetic and a consistently positive force in the rehearsal room, Aviel is our much deserved DOTW!
