Devon L’Esperance ’22 Wins U17 Jr. Gold Squash Tournament

Devon L’Esperance ’22 won the U17 Jr. Gold Squash Tournament on Monday, February 17 in New Jersey.

In the championship match, Devon defeated her opponent 4-1; claiming the first game 12-10, falling 10-12 in the second then, won back-to-back games, 11-9 and 11-5, for the victory.

In the round of 32 of the tournament Devon received a bye then was victorious in her round 16 match in straight games (3-0). She continued to shutout her opponents in the quarterfinals and semifinals with 3-0 victories. Congratulations Devon!

Devon and the Deerfield girls varsity squash team return to action today, Wednesday 2/19 in a head-to-head match at Taft. Starting on Friday, the team will begin their quest for a national championship at the 2020 HEAD U.S. High School Team Squash Championships at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Good luck girls!
