On Saturday, the Big Green hit the road to take on the Bearcats of Hotchkiss and came away with a strong 12-6 win. A thunder and lightning delay pushed the start time back, but Deerfield didn’t miss a beat once the game began.
The team set the tone early, thanks to excellent face-off work from R.J. Radonis ‘25, Justin Scalzo ‘27, and Beckett Baird ‘26. Their efforts turned into valuable possessions and then into points. Scalzo and Remi Zeitlan ‘26 delivered goals to open the fourth quarter, helping Deerfield pull away for good. It was a team effort with contributions throughout the lineup fueling a great road win.
Less than 24 hours later, Deerfield was back in action at home against a tough Nobles squad. The matchup between Deerfield and Nobles lived up to the anticipation with nearly 30 goals scored in a back-and-forth battle.
Deerfield came out firing in the first quarter, with goals from Matt Johnson ‘25, Brayden Lahey ‘25, and Kellar Kelusky ‘27 powering the early offense. Nobles responded with a push in the second and third quarters, keeping the games within a single goal and trading tallies with the Big Green.
Deerfield held together and kicked it up a gear in the final stretch, securing a 16-13 victory to cap off a successful weekend. The win marks the team’s fourth straight, building intensity as they head into the final two weeks of regular season.
