On Wednesday, the Big Green baseball team traveled to Dunkin Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats in Hartford, CT to battle Westminster School.
In the 5th inning, the Big Green recorded five runs which ultimately proved to be game winning run as Deerfield went on to secure the victory over the Martlets by a score of 5-4.
In the contest, Tate Bannish ’25 recorded 2 RBI and Calen Allen ’26 and Jack Welch ’26 each had an RBI. Centerfielder Cole Geer ‘25 earned four put outs on defense and was 1-2 with a run and 2 SB.
On the mound, five Big Green pitchers combined held Westminster to 6 hits and 3 ER.
The victory extends the team’s current winning streak to six games and improves their season record to 11-3. The Big Green return to the mound this Saturday, May 10 when they host Andover in a double header. The first pitch of the double header is scheduled for 1:30pm.
