Baseball Sweeps Exeter in the Rain

The rainy day didn’t stop Deerfield baseball from delivering two dominant performances at home this weekend, sweeping a double header against Exeter.

In game one, Deerfield broke things open in the bottom of the third inning when Mack Mrowka ‘25 roped a bases-loaded triple to give Big Green a commanding lead. On the mound Connor Niemiec ‘25 was incredible, throwing six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five to earn the win. Deerfield took game one 6-0.

Big Green sealed the deal in game two, racking up 10 hits and 16 runs in just five innings and claiming the series sweep with a 16-1 victory. The team showcased offensive depth and patience at the plate, taking advantage of their 12 walks. Second baseman Colton Simas ‘28 went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Jack Welch continued his hot streak with a 2-for-2 performance and four RBIs. Barret Adams ‘27, Caleb Allen ‘25, and Will Machnik ‘26 each drove in two runs.
