4 x 100 M Relay Team Sets New School Record

Carly Barbato – May 9, 2019

Deerfield’s boys varsity track & field 4 x 100 M relay team set a new school record in the event at their May 4th home tri-meet. The team of Ethan Chen ’20, Donnie Gray ’21, Cortland Dicks ’21, and Quinton Quirrenbach ’19 completed the relay in 43.73 seconds to ink their place in the record books.

The previous Deerfield record in the 4 x 100 M relay (43.83) was set by Tim Nolen, Kevin Dixon, Andy Nolen, and Andy Black in 2000.

The effort of the new record holders helped to propel the boys varsity track & field team to victory in last Saturday’s tri-meet against St. Paul’s and Choate. In addition to the victory in the 4 x 100 M relay event, the Big Green won nine other events at the meet including; the shot put, discus, high jump, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M, 3000 M, and the 300 M Hurdles.

Meet Event Winners:
