Kamseu ’18 Making An Instant Impact for UVA Men’s Soccer

Carly Barbato – October 19, 2018

Mid-way through the month October, Cabrel Happi Kamseu ’18 is tied as the Virginia Cavaliers Men’s Soccer leading goal scorer, already notching 5 goals in his rookie campaign and also tied as the team’s top points getter (10). He has played in 11 of the 12 regular season games so far this season, amassing 781 minutes played.

Last year was Cabrel’s first year in the United States as he joined the Big Green from his hometown of Harare, Zimbabwe.  Cabrel is no stranger to making an immediate impact on the field. As a post-graduate student-athlete at Deerfield last year, Cabrel recorded 17 goals and three assists in the 15 game season. Setting a school record at Deerfield with the most points registered in one season.

With three conference games left to play in the regular season, the Virginia Cavaliers are ranked #6 in the country with an overall record of 9-1-2. The Cavaliers will round-out their regular season schedule with three games in seven days and the line-up of opponents includes three top-ranked teams; #1 Wake Forest, #16 Notre Dame, and #5 UNC.
