JV Baseball: Sameer Sharma ’18 & Caio Paiva Oliveira ‘20
The JV baseball Athletes of the Week are Sameer Sharma and Caio Paiva Oliveira.

Sameer Sharma for his HR and two put-outs from left field against Choate. Samir contributed with both his bat and his arm in our close win against Choate on Saturday.

Caio Paiva Oliveira for his amazing catch in right field against Choate. Caio has worked hard all season on his fielding and it paid off with a game-saving catch on Saturday!

Girls Varsity Rowing: Hunter Keller ‘20

Hunter Keller is the girls’ rowing Athlete of the Week because of her attitude and hard work. Hunter really stepped up this week and raced her heart out in the fourth varsity boat on Saturday against Choate. Her commitment to her boat and the sport is incredible, especially as this is her first season. Hunter also has a great attitude. She is always smiling and consistently pushes herself to new highs. She comes to practice ready for anything and adjusts to whatever is thrown her way. Hunter takes her positivity and lessons from the water into life on campus and is an awesome ambassador for the team. Thanks Hunter for all the hard work. Keep smiling!

Boys Varsity Rowing: Gabe Moos ‘19

Gabe Moos wins the final rower of the week for winning the end-of-season novice 2k event this Monday afternoon with a 7:01.3. Gabe’s piece proved his athletic intelligence through his remarkable consistency throughout the piece, as well as his impressive cardiovascular engine. Aside from his erg prowess, Gabe has shown remarkable tenacity from his early days of awkwardly swinging the oar around in Orlando until the recent Choate race, where he contributed to a dominant win from the 2 seat of the 6th varsity. Congratulations, Gabe, for a great season, and for winning our last rower of the week award.

Varsity Baseball: Henry Gustavson ‘20

Henry Gustavson ’20 is Varsity Baseball’s Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.  Henry pitched the first game of the Walker Tournament against NMH and turned in a complete game 1-0 shutout.  Henry threw an economical 76 pitches in 7 innings of work (55 strikes and only 21 balls).  He struck out four and walked none while scattering 6 hits.  Gustavson’s performance enabled the Big Green to advance to the Walker Tournament championship game on Saturday, May 20.

Girls Varsity Tennis: Adeliza Grace ‘18

Adeliza has contributed to our team’s winning ways all year. Not only did she post a fantastic singles record this season, but she is a versatile and ambitious all-around player. Adeliza works hard every match to outlast her opponent and haul in a W for the team. Adeliza’s loyalty and dedication to the team are among many attributes that make her a critical part of the Varsity Tennis Team’s success.

Girls JV Lacrosse: Lara Akande ‘20

Lara Akande ’20 is our athlete of the week because of her steady growth as a lacrosse player throughout the season.  Through hard work, combined with her natural athleticism, Lara went from being a lacrosse novice to one of our most valuable defenders.  Lara has made several key plays for us throughout the season, especially in the last few games.  She is beginning to master one-on-one defense and sliding or crashing to help her teammates. Lara has also caused several turnovers and cleared the ball to our offensive end using her tremendous speed.  We are really proud of Lara’s contributions to the JV lacrosse team and excited to coach her next year!

Varsity Softball: Team Managers – Livi Messina ’17 & Kaleb Robinson ‘17

Livi Messina and Kaleb Robinson are Varsity Softball’s athletes of the week!  Livi and Kaleb did a stellar job as co-managers this season, often jumping in to help with drills during practice, and even joining our inter-squad scrimmages.  Our season wouldn’t have been the same without them.  Thank you, Livi and Kaleb, for a great season!
