This Week in DA Athletics: The Sun is Shining and the Wins are Rolling In

This week the sun continues to shine down on the Big Green athletic teams and the wins have been rolling in. Deerfield teams reported 6 wins on the weekend and a 2nd place tournament finish. To date this week, there have been 8 team wins recorded. The Big Green record from the past week (4/7 to 4/10) is, 14-6-0.



Boys JV Lacrosse vs. Westminster: Win 7-6 OT

The boys JV lacrosse team won their 2nd overtime game in a row to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Boys JV Tennis vs. Cardigan: Win 7-0

With the win on Saturday, boys JV Tennis remains undefeated on the season with a record of 2-0.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse vs. Westminster: Win 11-4

With the win, the team improved their record to 2-1.

Varsity Baseball vs. Cushing: Win 5-2

Varsity baseball earned their first win of the season on Saturday over league opponent Cushing.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse vs. Middlesex: Win 15-12

With Saturday’s win, the team improved their early season record to 1-1.

Varsity Softball vs. Miss Porter’s: Win 10-4

With great at bats and pitching, varsity softball went ahead late to drop Miss Porter’s 10-4.

Boys Varsity @ Kingswood Tournament: 2nd Place

The boys came out ready to play, amassing a 7-1 record on Saturday and a 6-4 record on Sunday to finish with 22 points, just 3 points behind winner Kingswood.



Varsity Softball vs. Stoneleigh Burnham: Win 16-0

Softball shut out Stoneleigh Burnham in 5 innings.



Boys JV Lacrosse vs. Cardigan: Win 6-5 OT

In their 4th game of the season, the boys JV squad entered OT for the 4th time this year and for the 3rd time they were victorious by a score of 6-5 to improve to 3-1.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse vs. Navy Prep: Win 14-8

It was a special day on campus, as the boys varsity lacrosse team dedicated their season to alum Graham Harden ’87. On Wednesday, the team improved to 3-1 on the season.

Varsity Golf vs. Avon & NMH: Win x 2 (DA – 203, Avon – 217, NMH – 219)

Varsity golf earned their first 2 wins of the season to bring their record level at 2-2.

Varsity Softball vs. Worcester: Win 9-5

The DA bats came alive in the top of 5th inning, which propelled them to victory, and their 3rd win of the year.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse @ Andover: Win 17-14

In a thrilling game, girls varsity lax earned their first road win of the season at Andover to improve to 2-1.

JV Baseball vs. Taft: Win 11-0

In their first game of the season, JV baseball shut out Taft, which was highlighted by 8 stolen bases throughout the game.
