In the opening week of the spring 2026 season, Big Green teams returned to action to commence the season and posted an overall record of 6-4.
The boys varsity lacrosse team led the way, with the first regular season spring contest against visiting Belmont Hill and came away victorious, 12-8. The squad returned to action on Saturday afternoon in a highly anticipated game against ranked opponent, Brunswick Bruins. The Doors came from behind to level the score and convert on their final possession of the game to gain the lead. The team’s strong defensive play sealed the victory in the final seconds of play. With back-to-back victories, the team improves their early season record to 2-0.
On the mound, the varsity baseball team defeated a talented Millbrook team, 7-1 on Friday night. The team returned to action on Saturday in a doubleheader with visiting Belmont Hill. The Doors split the series 1-1 to improve their record to 2-1 at the start of the season. Moreover, the team earned the #7 ranking in the opening week of the New England Baseball Journal Prep Power Rankings top 10.
On the softball field, the Big Green hosted neighboring NMH in their season home opener. The bats came alive early and the Doors recorded 17 runs in their first victory of the season over NMH, 17-2.
The girls varsity lacrosse team kicked off their season on the road at Dexter-Southfield on Saturday. The Big Green were able to pull ahead and never looked back in their 11-9 season opening win. The squad returns home today for their home opener against St. Paul’s School.
On the tennis courts, boys varsity tennis traveled to the two-day tournament at Kingswood-Oxford. The squad came away with a third place finish overall and #1 double partners Gunnar Weldon and Dima Kasumov won the #1 doubles bracket.
In the pool, girls water polo welcomed Exeter in their season home opener, despite registering goals in each quarter, the visitors held a two-goal advantage at the final whistle. The team returns to action on Thursday vs. Hopkins.
Finally, the ultimate team showed great handling and movement on the field in their home opener against PVCICS, and fell by a score of 6-13.
