It’s said that April showers bring May flowers, but it seems the rainy season continued to persist as the team headed eastward to Andover on a cold May morning.
The team arrived two players shy of their usual starting lineup—still, warmup layers were shed, rackets re-gripped, and the usual introductions made: it was time.
At first doubles, Chloe Schiff and Blake Coleman played drawn-out, groundstroke-heavy points, holding their own with deep shots and consistent returns even as Andover pulled ahead. Grace Lodge and Arabella Navab found themselves in a nail-biting tiebreaker at third doubles and lost by a close margin, maintaining strategic placement and strong net play.
The team regrouped outside for singles to take on tough opponents and, while they faced the stiffest competition of the season, stayed steady, aggressive, and—most of all—patient.
